8-Week Pottery Classes for Kids and Teens

  • Hand-Building for Homeschoolers age 7 and older

    COST: $230

    This class is perfect for homeschoolers looking to explore the world of clay! It is taught on Friday mornings. Students in this class will complete four (4) projects chosen by the instructor, with input requested from class members. Projects will be announced before the first day and teach various hand-building techniques including pinch, coil, and slab. The 8-week class consists of four (4) making days and four (4) glazing days, as well as free time to explore and create on their own (as time allows). Classes are 1.5 hours long and meet once a week.

    COST: $230

    Children in this class will complete four (4) projects chosen by the instructor, with input requested from class members. The 8-week class consists of four (4) making days and four (4) glazing days, as well as free time to explore and create on their own (as time allows). Classes are 1.5 hours long and meet once a week on Friday afternoons.

  • Throwing on the Wheel for Teens age 13 - 18 yrs

    COST: $290

    Teens will learn how to prepare clay, center, open, pull walls, shape, and trim. They will learn about glazing and will have access to all glazes offered in our studio. Clay, tools, equipment, glazes, and firings are provided. Classes are 2 hours long and meet once a week for 8 weeks every Friday afternoon. No experience necessary!

    Note: This class alternates with the Teen Hand-Building class every 8 weeks.

  • Hand-Building for Teens age 13-18 yrs

    COST: $290

    Teens will learn the three techniques of hand-building: pinch, coil, and slab. They will use these techniques to create both functional and decorative pieces of their own design. We’ll talk about glazing and students will have access to all glazes offered in our studio. Clay, tools, equipment, glazes and firings are included. Classes are 2 hrs long and meet once a week for 8 weeks on Friday afternoons. No experience necessary!

    Note: This class alternates with the Teen Throwing on the Wheel class every 8 weeks.
